About Craig Ellis
Born in New Zealand, Craig Ellis is an multi disciplined artist/designer/teacher who studied furniture design at Unitec, Auckland, New Zealand in the early 90's. His latest art adventures includes fibreglass sculptures which challenges our attitude towards food and diets, animals, farming methods and our ever changing climate. Previous work in paint tells of a traumatic brain injury sustained from a scooter accident on Richmond Road, Auckland in 2007. Unable to concentrate for long periods of time Craig started painting as a therapeutic tool. Craig’s paintings and screenprints captures the essence of his recovery and rehabilitation, telling a powerful story of frustration, despair, acceptance, hope and happiness. He is also involved in film making, photography, street art. Craig’s artwork is held in private collections in New Zealand and Europe.
